Gold Bar Mine
The “Gold Bar Mine” is one of Arizona’s premiere historical and rich gold mines that began its story in the 1800’s; a mine that reportedly produced somewhere close to $25,000,000 worth of gold in its early days. The mine is located some 15 miles northeast of the community Wickenburg, Arizona in the Blackrock Mining District and is accessed by the well known “Constellation Road.” Many qualified geologists and engineers have analyzed this property for over 100 years and the brief introduction that follows is a recap of those previous examinations and evaluations.

James Mahoney, who later took as partner F.A. O’Brien, discovered the deposits in 1877. The property was mined for its oxidized ore until the late 1920’s when it became obvious that the current technology was not able to deal with the richer sulphide ores.
